Complete guide to setting up your naked domain redirect
Choose between the free plan (HTTP redirect to www) or secure plan (HTTPS with custom targets).
After signup, you'll receive your unique IP address. Keep this handy for the next step.
Log into your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Route53, Namecheap, etc.) and add an A record:
| Type | Name | Value | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | @ (or blank) | YOUR_IP_ADDRESS | 300 |
Replace YOUR_IP_ADDRESS with the IP address provided in your dashboard after signup.
Important: Use "@" or leave the name blank to configure your root domain. Don't use "www" - that should point to your actual hosting.
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate globally, though most changes are visible within 15-30 minutes.
You can test your redirect by visiting your naked domain (e.g., example.com) in a browser. You should be redirected to your target URL.
Pro tip: Use dig example.com
or online tools like whatsmydns.net
to check if your DNS changes have propagated.
If you're on the secure plan, an SSL certificate will be automatically requested from Let's Encrypt once your DNS is properly configured and pointing to our IP.
Once the certificate is issued, your redirect will work with both HTTP and HTTPS.
Note: Make sure the proxy is disabled (gray cloud) so DNS points directly to our IP.
